WARNING!

Please be advised that the hostel is a typical students'/back packers' party hostel. It has a bar and a basement disco. People will be drinking and partying there. It will be noisy. It is not a 5 star hotel. If you would prefer a quiet weekend or do not wish to stay somewhere where alcohol is served, then this trip is definitely not for you! ELSA London goes to Amsterdam

ELSA London is pleased to announce 2 visits to Amsterdam in the new year. The cost of each visit is £99 per person for a 4day, 2night trip in Jan and Feb 2008. The groups will depart Thursday evening and travel overnight on executive coaches to arrive in Amsterdam on Friday morning. The coaches will depart Amsterdam on Sunday morning to arrive back in London on Sunday night.

Please note: Non members will have to pay an additional £5 ELSA admin charge. This will be payable in cash on the day of the trip (i.e. when we board the coach).

If you do not have a credit card and would like to pay the full amount in cash, still register on the website to reserve a place, but also contact ELSA to make an arrangement to pay the full amount in cash. Once the cash has been received, (you must pay the full amount into the ELSA bank account), we will pay for you using a credit card.

International Students

Please check here to find out whether you need a visa to travel to the Netherlands. If you do, it is important that you book an appointment at the embassy in good time. It is possible to book up to 5 appointments in one go, so if there is a group of you who will require visas one of you should make the booking (using his/her passport details) and then s/he should add up to 4 additional people. The Netherlands website states that visas can be ready in 48 hours but be aware that it can take up to 2 weeks to process applications from certain nationalities. For example, Chinese pasports take approx. 1 week.

You will need a visa letter for the embassy, this can be obtained from Poppy after you have confirmed a date for your appointment and paid in full. If the Appointment dates go fairly quickly, members have informed us that are already making appointments for 10th January 2008. You must make sure that you get an appointment in good time for the trip i.e. at least 2 weeks BEFORE the departure date!!!

We have set up an online booking facility so that you may pay for places online. You do not have to be an ELSA member but non members will be asked to pay an extra £5 ELSA admin fee on the date of departure. If you decide to join ELSA instead, you may pay the discounted fee of £10 for a full 12 months membership.

AEGEE London members are counted as ELSA for the purposes of this visit.

This trip will have nothing to do with "law" but is simply an opportunity to go away and have 4 days of fun. We will be promoting the trip at some law schools (posters and e-flyers) We envisage a lot of interest and it will be a case of first come, first served.

Don't want to sleep in a dorm?

If you wish to have a twin room (as opposed to a dorm i.e. 4 - 6 beds), you will need to have someone to share with. You will each have to pay a £15 supplement i.e. £30 in total.

Want to join ELSA?

Download a membership form and bring it with membership fee on the date of the trip. Your membership will run for a full 12 months and will allow you to apply for all ELSA events and activities including particpation in international delegations and international work experience through STEP.
