You will need to go through security checks to gain entry into parliament ( like at the airport). This can take 20 – 30 minutes so PLEASE make sure you turn up on time. The tour will start promptly. The guide cannot wait for late-comers.
We will meet outside the Visitors’ Entrance at the appointed time. Do not go in without the rest of the group! Someone from ELSA will meet you OUTSIDE. Your names will be checked on the ELSA register and £5 admin fee will be collected (non members only). When everyone is present, we will proceed through the security checks. This can take 15 – 20 minutes as it is a bit like going through the airport security. Once through security, we will enter Westminster Hall where we will be met by the guide.
Each tour will last approximately 75 minutes. After the tours, you are free to stay and watch some parliamentary business (debates, committee hearings etc). However, please check the parliamentary calendar to see if anything is scheduled.
